Ford Fusion: Rear Seats / Rear Seat Backrest Latch. Removal and Installation
Removal
NOTE:

Remove the rear seat cushion.
Refer to: Rear Seat Cushion (501-10B Rear Seats, Removal and Installation).

Remove the bolt and position the rear center safety belt aside. Lift the rear seat latch release handle.
Torque:
35 lb.ft (48 Nm)

Lower the rear seat backrest.
-
Rotate the backrest hinge locking arm to release the backrest.
-
Remove the seat backrest.
NOTE:
It is necessary to remove the 40 percent seat backrest before the 60 percent seat backrest will release.

Lift the rear seat latch release handle.
Torque:
35 lb.ft (48 Nm)

Lower the rear seat backrest. Remove the backrest
latch bezel. Unzip the backrest cover and release the backrest cover
J-clips.

Rotate the backrest hinge locking arm to release the backrest.

Remove the seat backrest.

Remove the screw.
Torque:
44 lb.in (5 Nm)

Remove the seat latch bezel.
-
Position aside the backrest cover foam.
-
Remove the bolts and the rear seat backrest latch.
Torque:
18 lb.ft (24 Nm)
Installation

To install, reverse the removal procedure.

Remove the rear seat cushion.
Release the locking tabs.
Position the rear seat cushion upward.
