Ford Fusion: Body Closures / Luggage Compartment Lid Hinge. Removal and Installation

Removal

NOTE: Left hand (LH) side shown, right hand (RH) side similar.

1. Remove the luggage compartment lid.
   Refer to: Luggage Compartment Lid (501-03) .
   

1. Remove the parcel shelf trim.
   Refer to: Parcel Shelf (501-05 Interior Trim and Ornamentation, Removal and Installation).
   

1. Loosen but do not remove the hinge fasteners.
   

1. Remove the luggage compartment lid torsion springs.
   

1. Remove the fasteners.
   

1. Remove the luggage compartment lid hinge.
   

Installation

NOTE: Left hand (LH) side shown, right hand (RH) side similar.

1. Position the luggage compartment lid hinge in the vehicle.
   

1. Loosely install the fasteners.
   

1. Install the luggage compartment lid torsion springs.
   

1. Tighten the fasteners.
   Torque: 16 lb.ft (22 Nm)

1. Install the parcel shelf trim.
   Refer to: Parcel Shelf (501-05 Interior Trim and Ornamentation, Removal and Installation).
   

1. Install and align the luggage compartment lid.
   Refer to: Luggage Compartment Lid (501-03) .
   Refer to: Luggage Compartment Lid Alignment (501-03 Body Closures, General Procedures).
