Removal

Disconnect the battery ground.
Refer to: Battery Disconnect and Connect (414-01 Battery, Mounting and Cables) .

NOTE: 2.5L shown, other engines similar.

NOTE: Note the orientation and position of the generator current sensor tape tab.
Position the B+ wire protective cover and remove the nut. Index-mark the battery cable at the generator current sensor. Remove and discard the tape securing the generator current sensor to the battery cable and remove the generator current sensor.

Installation

NOTICE: When installing the B+ terminal nut to the generator, finger-start the nut before tightening or component damage may occur.

NOTE: 2.5L shown, other engines similar.

NOTE: The generator current sensor must be installed in the proper position and orientation to function correctly.
With the generator current sensor tape tab pointing away from the generator, position the generator current sensor to the index-mark on the battery cable and secure with electrical tape. Install the nut and position the B+ wire protective cover.
Torque: 150 lb.in (17 Nm)

Connect the battery ground.
