Ford Fusion: Front End Body Panels / Hood. Removal and Installation

Removal

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

  1. Open hood.

  1. On both sides.
    Index-mark the hood hinge location to aid in hood installation.

  1. NOTE: An assistant is necessary for the support and removal of the hood.

    Remove the nuts and the hood.
    Torque: 18 lb.ft (25 Nm)

    Remove the pin-type retainers and the hood insulation.

Installation

  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
  1. Check the hood alignment. Align the hood as necessary.
