Removal
NOTE:

Open hood.

On both sides.
Index-mark the hood hinge location to aid in hood installation.

NOTE:
An assistant is necessary for the support and removal of the hood.
Remove the nuts and the hood.
Torque:
18 lb.ft (25 Nm)

NOTE:
This step is only necessary when installing a new component.
Remove the pin-type retainers and the hood insulation.

NOTE:
This step is only necessary when installing a new component.
Remove the pin-type retainers and the hood pad assembly.
Installation

To install, reverse the removal procedure.

Check the hood alignment. Align the hood as necessary.
Refer to: Hood Alignment (501-03 Body Closures, General Procedures).

Remove the wheel and tire.

The battery saver feature is use to save battery voltage. The BCM provides automatic shut-off of the interior and exterior lamps after a time-out period when the ignition is off.
