Ford Fusion: Bumpers / Front Bumper. Removal and Installation
Removal
All vehicles
NOTE:
Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

Remove the front bumper cover.
Refer to: Front Bumper Cover (501-19 Bumpers, Removal and Installation).

Remove the bolts and the lower radiator support.
Torque:
177 lb.in (20 Nm)

If equipped, remove the CCM and bracket.
Refer to: Cruise Control Module (CCM) (419-03A Cruise Control, Removal and Installation).

Remove the headlamp assemblies.
Refer to: Headlamp Assembly (417-01 Exterior Lighting, Removal and Installation).

Remove the horn assemblies.
Refer to: Horn (413-06 Horn, Removal and Installation).
Vehicles equipped with active grille shutters
-
Remove the active grille shutter.
Refer to: Active Grille Shutter (501-02 Front End Body Panels, Removal and Installation).
Vehicles not equipped with active grille shutters
-
On both sides.
Remove the pin-type retainers and position the radiator side air deflector aside.

Remove the radiator air deflector.
-
Separate the wiring harness from the radiator air deflector.
-
Remove the bolts.
Torque:
53 lb.in (6 Nm)
All vehicles
-
NOTE:
The bolts are accessed from behind the front bumper brackets.
Remove the bolts.
Torque:
177 lb.in (20 Nm)
-
Remove the front bumper adjuster bolts.
Torque:
18 lb.ft (24 Nm)
-
Remove the lower front bumper nuts.
Torque:
18 lb.ft (24 Nm)
-
Remove the upper front bumper nuts.
Torque:
18 lb.ft (24 Nm)
-
On both sides.
-
Rotate the front bumper upward pivoting on the upper bumper studs.

Remove the bumper adjusters.
-
Remove the front bumper.
Installation
-
To install, reverse the removal procedure.
