REFER to: Low One-Way Clutch Assembly (307-01A Automatic Transmission - 6-Speed Automatic Transmission – 6F35, Diagnosis and Testing).
  • Harsh Stop/Start event
  • NOTE: TFT must be greater than 38ºC (100ºF) for the PCM to command the transmission fluid auxiliary pump on.
  • Verify Fluid level.
REFER to: Transmission Fluid Level Check (307-01A Automatic Transmission - 6-Speed Automatic Transmission – 6F35, General Procedures).
If fluid level is ok, Clear any DTC, then carry out prime procedure: Using a diagnostic scan tool, prime the transmission fluid auxiliary pump. Using a diagnostic scan tool, Key ON, Engine OFF, command TRANS_PMP_CMD to 80% for 30 seconds. Carry out a road test until there is a stop/start event. If the restart is harsh, repeat the Transmission Fluid Auxiliary Pump prime procedure. Continue road test and evaluate each stop/start event. Repeat prime procedure until three consecutive normal stop/start events are achieved. Clear DTCs. If the concern stills exists, follow symptom chart for harsh forward engagement.
  • Shift Concerns

REFER to: Forward Clutch Assembly (307-01A Automatic Transmission - 6-Speed Automatic Transmission – 6F35, Diagnosis and Testing).
  • Intermediate clutch damaged or worn.
REFER to: Intermediate Clutch Assembly (307-01A Automatic Transmission - 6-Speed Automatic Transmission – 6F35, Description and Operation).
  • 2-3 Shift Hesitation After A Cold Soak
  • Verify Fluid level.
REFER to: Transmission Fluid Level Check (307-01A Automatic Transmission - 6-Speed Automatic Transmission – 6F35, General Procedures).
If fluid level is okay, these hesitation events should be deemed a normal characteristic and do not cause any abnormal wear or durability concern. The hydraulic circuit can partially drain back during an extended engine off condition and could take a couple applications (2-3 shifts) to work any air out of the hydraulic circuit. No further work on the transmission should take place for that condition.
  • No 3-4 Shift/Harsh/Soft/Slipping
  • Overdrive clutch assembly damaged or worn.
