Ford Fusion: Wipers and Washers / Windshield Wiper Pivot Arm. Removal and Installation

Removal
NOTE:
LH side shown, RH side similar.

Remove the wiper pivot arm nut cover and remove the wiper pivot arm nut.
-
Remove the wiper pivot arm.
Use the General Equipment: Two Leg Puller
Installation
-
Verify the windshield wiper motor is in the PARK position.
-
NOTE:
The ignition switch must remain ON during installation of wiper pivot arms.
Set the ignition switch to the ON position.

Pull the wiper switch down to cycle the windshield wiper motor.
-

NOTE:
LH windshield wiper blade is always positioned above the RH windshield wiper blade.
Align windshield wiper blade with the two marks on the windshield.

Torque:
22 lb.ft (30 Nm)

Install the wiper pivot arm nut and install the wiper pivot arm nut cover.

Turn the ignition OFF.

Remove the cap.
Remove the RH side Fender Splash Shield...

Suspension fasteners are critical parts that affect the
performance of vital components and systems. Failure of these fasteners
may result in major service expense. Use the same or equivalent parts if
replacement is necessary. Do not use a replacement part of lesser
quality or substitute design. Tighten fasteners as specified.
Remove the wheel and tire.

Autounlock
Autounlock unlocks all the doors when all
of the following occur:
The ignition is on, all the doors are
closed, and your vehicle has been
moving at a speed greater than 12 mph
(20 km/h).
Your vehicle comes to a stop and you
switch the ignition off or to the
accessory position.
You open the driver door within 10
minutes of switching the ignition off or
to accessory.
