Ford Fusion: Steering Wheel and Column Electrical Components / Ignition Switch. Removal and Installation

Removal

  1. Ford Fusion. Ignition Switch. Removal and Installation  WARNING: Before beginning any service procedure in this section, refer to Safety Warnings in section 100-00 General Information. Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury.

    Follow the health and safety precautions.
    Refer to: Health and Safety Precautions (100-00 General Information, Description and Operation).
  1. Remove the steering column shrouds.
    Refer to: Steering Column Shrouds (501-05 Interior Trim and Ornamentation, Removal and Installation).
  1. NOTICE: The ignition switch lock cylinder must not be turned while the ignition switch is removed. Otherwise, damage to the ignition switch may occur upon installation.

    1. Disconnect the electrical connector.
    1. Release the tabs and remove the ignition switch.

Installation

  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
