Disconnect
NOTE:
Removing the negative battery ground cable at the LH strut tower will not disable the vehicle's electrical system.
NOTE:
When the battery is disconnected and connected, some
abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the vehicle relearns its
adaptive strategy. The charging system set point may also vary. The
vehicle may need to be driven to relearn its strategy.

Remove the air cleaner.

Remove the bolt and the battery hold-down bracket.
Torque:
89 lb.in (10 Nm)

Position the battery.

NOTICE:
If equipped with a battery monitoring sensor, be
careful not to damage the sensor when removing the terminal from the
battery post. Do not pry on the terminals or component damage may occur.
NOTE:
Battery cable shown without a battery monitoring
sensor, battery cable with a battery monitoring sensor similar.
NOTE:
When disconnecting the battery cable to interrupt
power to the vehicle electrical system, disconnect the battery ground
cable only. It is not necessary to disconnect the positive battery
cable.

Loosen the nut and position the negative battery cable.
Torque:
44 lb.in (5 Nm)

Position the positive battery cable cover, loosen the nut and position the positive battery cable.
Torque:
44 lb.in (5 Nm)
Connect

To install, reverse the removal procedure.

Other information:
WARNING: Do not plug optional
electrical accessories into the cigar
lighter socket. Incorrect use of the cigar
lighter can cause damage not covered
by the vehicle warranty, and can result
in fire or serious injury.
Note:When you switch the ignition on, you
can use the socket to power 12 volt
appliances with a maximum current rating
of 15 amps...
Inspection and Verification
Verify the customer concern.
Visually inspect for obvious signs of mechanical or electrical damage.
If an obvious cause for an observed or reported concern is
found, correct the cause (if possible) before proceeding to the next
step
