Ford Fusion: Front Suspension / Wheel Knuckle. Removal and Installation

Removal
NOTICE:
Suspension fasteners are critical parts that affect the
performance of vital components and systems. Failure of these fasteners
may result in major service expense. Use the same or equivalent parts if
replacement is necessary. Do not use a replacement part of lesser
quality or substitute design. Tighten fasteners as specified.

Remove the front wheel bearing and wheel hub.
Refer to: Front Wheel Bearing and Wheel Hub (204-01 Front Suspension, Removal and Installation).

Remove the wheel speed sensor bolt and position the wheel speed sensor aside.

Remove the brake disc shield retainers and the brake disc shield.

Remove and discard the tie rod end nut and separate the tie rod end from the wheel knuckle.
Use the General Equipment: Tie Rod End Remover

Remove and discard the front strut and spring
assembly-to-wheel knuckle bolts and nuts and remove the wheel knuckle.
Installation
-
Install the wheel knuckle and install the new front strut and spring assembly-to-wheel knuckle bolts and nuts.
Torque:
173 lb.ft (235 Nm)
-
Attach the tie rod end to the wheel knuckle and install the new tie rod end nut.
Torque:
111 lb.ft (150 Nm)

Install the brake disc shield and the brake disc shield retainers.
Torque:
106 lb.in (12 Nm)

Position the wheel speed sensor and install the wheel speed sensor bolt.
Torque:
80 lb.in (9 Nm)

Install the front wheel bearing and wheel hub.
Refer to: Front Wheel Bearing and Wheel Hub (204-01 Front Suspension, Removal and Installation).

Check and if necessary adjust front camber.
Refer to: Front Camber Adjustment (204-00 Suspension System - General Information, General Procedures).

starting system controls the cranking of the engine. The starter motor
is enabled by the starter relay when the relay is activated by the PCM. The PCM receives inputs from the ignition switch - push button start, automatic transmission, Run/start relay and the BCM before activating the starter relay to initiate cranking of the engine...
